From Mr. Sampson:
“If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, even if we don’t speak often, please post a comment with a memory of you and me. It can be anything you want- good or bad. When you’re finished, post this little paragraph on your blog and be surprised (or moritified) about what people remember about you.”
I miss my friends so freaking much!! Oh, and a not on my internet access: I am stealing wireless at a friend’s house, which means that I am still not totally ‘linked in’. Getting internet to a place that doesn’t already have stuff installed is another bureaucratic mess that I can’t deal with right now. It’s not worth it anymore since I’m leaving in 2 months. I have come to realize that I am entirely dependent on net to get anything done. It’s a bit unsettling.

‘thuy’

i remember walking with you to bi-rite to get ingredients for chili, and having a lovely talk.
… a hot summer day, a black parasol, a beautiful smile.
The disbursement of a ‘home’ key.
Going to see “War Games”. Coffee at Au Coquelet, at which you exclaimed something like “you’re so old!”
Dragging my HS friend to a random fun little dinner party at your place circa winter ’03, and being fed something weird, tomato-ey, and incredibly tasty. I don’t remember what exactly it was, but the memory is still causing Pavlovianesque salivation =P
(And Alex H, said HS friend, apparently still remembers said dinner party, too!)
One day, in the near future you will be in a place where the internet traffic flows like wine and getting a bus pass is as easy as buying gelato! This is the utopia you will return to and life will be good.
So I haven’t been very good about keeping up with anyone’s journals, but I happen to be procrastinating late at night and came across this so… my first memory of you was in the csua office and I commented that I used to have a pen like yours but I lost it and it was tragic because it was a very special pen and I couldn’t find them anywhere. You then insisted that I could have the pen and I was amazed at your generosity. We then discussed how those pens are so special and the difficulties of finding such special pens. And I knew from that moment that you were my soul mate. Well, at least when it came to pen shopping.
