This morning I popped a whole campari tomato in my mouth (about the size of a golf ball). As I bit down on it, it attacked me with a shot of acid juice right down the throat. Fortunately, I didn’t die, but I will be killing my tomatoes before eating them from now on.

  1. perhaps you ought to bite down…a little more gently. or perhaps not at all. then you won’t have acid juice shooting down your throat…

    maybe?

  2. always best to hit the jugular before prey is in your mouth completely…

  3. You could always learn to swallow whole, but that’s A) defeating the enjoyment of actually tasting most foods, and B) likely (when practiced on golf ball sized objects) to be a very short sort of regimen unless you either a) can perform the self-Heimlich or b) have esophageal muscles of steel – in which case the original problem may reintroduce itself in new and unexpected ways.
