More and more I realize how short my attention spans. I have so many interests and hobbies that I don’t allot enough time to any of them. These are my current projects:

4 short movies (1 in editing, 2 filmed, 1 to be storyboarded)
1 picture-taking session (I bought the most awesome pomegranate…)
6 sewing projects (1 almost complete, 2 cut up, 3 with purchased fabric)

And stuff i haven’t started at all:
weekly guitar lessons
write a small desktop app
learn flash (with a specific project in mind)
rewrite the csua web page (perhaps in django…)

And then I have to talk to people and work and write emails and go to italian class and stuff.

Last week my coworker and I experienced a minor ‘omg life is hard’ breakdown. I’m feeling overwhelmed with doing things like make doctor/dentist/optometrist appointments, ordering checks (actually everything about my finances. what are the tax implications of an iso? I need my social security card to open an ing account. I need to activate my credit card, blah blah blah. I thought I had a decent handle on this stuff but I don’t.) All these administrative things are difficult to deal with after a long day of work. It’s frustrating to realize I’m quite inept at handling these kinds of daily tasks.

In other news, Dennis took me to see Edward Scissorhands at the Orpheum. It was a beautiful modern-dance interpretation of the movie. The costuming was fabulous. The outfits really conveyed the characters’ personalities. Llama and Vanessa were with us and it was a very cute double-date thing. Afterward we all had dinner at Bar Tartine. The celery root soup was weird but I loved the duck crepes with persimmon and pomegranate. The restaurant is best known for their desserts, and those were amazing. We had amaretto torte (crispy phillo dough shell with creamy amaretto flavored cream), chocolate cake with banana compote & vanilla ice cream and this-sweet-bread-i-cant-remember-the-name-of with baked apples and lemon ice cream. I’d say just go for dessert.

  1. oro? card for an ING account… last I remember my process, it was all online…

are you doing something other than just opening up a savings account?

  2. no they just make me jump through hoops to verify my identity. first i had to call them (between the right hours), answer a bunch of questions, get a new pin (which they send in 5 days), and then now I have to fax them a copy of my social security card, which i don’t have. yes, these things are hard for me.
