Dream
I’m looking at pig-shaped jewelry in a shop in Monterey when I realize that it’s the end of the semester and I need to take my finals. Somehow I magically appear back on campus in time, but there are no more seats in the room so I sit outside on the cement. I try to find a comfortable sitting position. It occurs to me that everything I write will have that squiggly bumpy property from using the sidewalk as a table. I worry about legibility as I flip through the test — computability & complexity and it is taught by Paul Hilfinger. I blink, time’s up; I’ve finished one of eight problems.
I wake up in a panic for the 4th night in the past 7 days. Needless to say, life has been a little stressful lately.
Oh dear. Your life must really be stressful if Hilfinger tests are haunting your dreams.
(He says as he prepares for his last finals ever)
Feel better soon :)

Echoing Mr Obama’s namesake above - how bad does your day have to get before your dreams are full of Hilfiger exams?

I’ve been out of school for almost 10 years and I still have this dream that it’s late in the semester and I never dropped the class I meant to drop and it’s still on my transcript even though I haven’t gone or done anything with it in months!

@BradyDale: holy smokes.. I have an eerily similar dream. For me its late in the semester and I signed up for a class that I forgot I signed up for, and never went to..

@barak thanks dear. Congrats on passing school :)
@pp well, it happens 3 or 4 times a year so it has to be pretty extreme.
@Brady @ashot I have that dream too. Clearly school is a little traumatic for us all
