Halloween at the Brickhouse

We had a costume contest at work, and boy was the competition tough. When it really mattered, I lost my angry-queen character. It’s tough to perform when everyone’s looking at you, but some of my coworkers are natural stars. More photos of our costumes here and here.

Andrew* sent me a cute song about Ruby on Rails by Miles Forest:

I was instantly reminded of other RoR tidbits I’ve seen here and there. As a php developer, this video from railsenvy is more appropriate, but the java v RoR is more true.

And just to bring down those RoR devs a touch, here […]

Some great shorts from TFF

I didn’t see these at the Tribeca film fest–I found them on vyc. I have a lot of thoughts about my trip, though I’ve been too busy to write them down. I’ve caught a cold and have been operating at around 50% efficiency. Hopefully this weekend I’ll feel better and have a […]

Short tribeca update

As promised, I have managed to make a movie a day. I have a few in process, but the multiple trips to the camera store has been an unexpected timesuck. I absolutely love it here, but I am so tired. Tonight I am determined to see Lovesickness.

I’ve been following the jumpcut movies of livingonthedge and her latest is the best so far.
She does a great job timing the pictures to the song. It’s very much a “wtf?” experience.

What to do with leftover candy canes.

My latest movie:

I really enjoy making these short movies. It’s so much fun to film and edit and I’m learning a lot.
This movie was much faster to film but took a few hours to edit. I used my digital camera and my isight to shoot it from 2 different angles (multiple […]

Ok, more movies to amuse you

I made a movie about SF weather.
Yesterday we broke up into groups and we had 45 minutes to do a 30 second Jumpcut Commercial. Here are the results.

The first two are funny, the second is a little more zen, […]

ok, it’s another movie!

This one’s about the yahoo talent show. I really really really like ijustine and I totally want her to win (though I have to admit her pilot video is weak). I’m getting more comfortable in front of the camera, which is cool, but I still feel totally awkward.
With all of moofy’s job […]
