Kid Beyond and The Lovemakers at the Independent Jan 19. How exciting! Two performs I like playing at the same show. Kid Beyond is a badass beatboxer (he performed at Evilution if anyone remembers that far back).

Is anyone interested in Snow Patrol and Ok Go at Bill Graham? I’m conflicted because the tix are $35 + $9 (fucking livenation…). I like both bands but is it worth that much at Bill Graham?

I made a movie about SF weather.

Yesterday we broke up into groups and we had 45 minutes to do a 30 second Jumpcut Commercial. Here are the results.

The first two are funny, the second is a little more zen, and the last is ADD.

Enter to win a free sony camera on Jumpcut.

Here’s the deal:
1. join the jumpcut holiday givaway group
2. Upload a couple of photos/clips of your life this past year.
3. Throw a song on it
4. On publish, add it to the Jumpcut Holiday Givaway group.

The two winners are selected by random drawing.

The camera (Sony Cybershot DSC-M2) is valued at around $400. It’s pretty nifty, though not my camera of choice, but hey, you could sell it on ebay and get whatever you want.

Your chances will probably be pretty good for winning.

There are only 12 movies at this point and half of them are from Jumpcut employees.

So… ya. do it.
and then add me as a friend.

There are no words to describe the deep loss I, and many of us, feel. Alleycat was such a beautiful woman with an amazing life ahead of her. I guess I thought we were all invincible. I don’t know, I’m just, confused.

Clandestine was awesome. wow. There were some great costumes. The interrogation scene was soooooo sosososososoooo hot. Yumminess abounded.

I went to see ok go on thurs. Their music is semi-standard happy pop (which I am really into at the moment) and they are a lot of fun in concert. Like, “we’re gonna set up a mini stage in the middle of the audience to perform our acoustic songs”, “we’re gonna randomly run through the crowd and bounce around”, and “we’re gonna do our music video dance”. The most amusing thing the singer said: “So I hear that San Francisco is one of the most expensive cities in the country.” *crowd cheers*. “Wow, you’re really proud of that?”

I breeze through the cars of bart, pressing my weight against the doors as I force them open, intent on getting to the car that stops right in front of the escalator at 16th and mission. As I’m walking down the isle, I hear a hesitant voice: ‘Karen?’. I quickly turn around to see Malcolm. Yes, Malcolm. I didn’t even know he was in California. We chatted for a while. He is doing well, going where he pleases still, living in SF and working for some software company. It was such a pleasant surprise to see him.

A few weeks ago I’m standing in a crowded bart car, and I when I look up from my book, I steal a glance of the guy with the drum between his knees. He was in all black and had on a bowler hat. Cute. When I look up again, he is staring straight at me. I smile and hold his gaze. He asks me, “Can I give you a flier?” “Sure!”. He reaches into his breast pocket and pulls out an orange slip of paper. As I prepare to exit he says, “I really like your style.” Awwww…. The flier says ‘Spooky 1 man band, the Makeout Room, Oct 29″. I unfortunately didn’t make the show, but today dev was painfully slow, so I decided to look him up. The first hit was (of course) a tribe post. Looking at his profile I find that he is friends with Diva and Elke. I love tribe. I wonder if I should send him a message…

Dennis and I spent hours making this movie. It was so much fun. The audio editing software Dennis used to make the track is pretty slick, so I’ll probably be experimenting with it more in the future. I have slowly come to realize that I have a lot of creative energy and when I don’t do something with it I get all grumpy.
